Crunchy Crispy Moong Daal Balls ... or U can Simply call them Mangode .....


Hey Guyzz...

Im so sorry for not posting all these days. Actually was suffering with some eye infection so was not able to use the laptop. Okk anyways.. leave all this sad part.. :( Lets cook something good to eat... Last tym we had a sweet dish.. as it was the opening recipe of the blog.. so this time lets move on wid something chatpta and crispy...

Have you all tried mangode (as they are called in marathi ) basically, people refer them as moong daal bade... Whatever it is they taste so so good.. Just try them out.. Specially on a rainy evening... I know all of u must be bored of the hot chilly summer.. and waiting for the wonderful rains to sooth you all...

So for here we will refer them as Mangode, as I have always called them since my childhood...
Lets see the ingredients list widout wasting anymore time....





Ingredients :
 Moong Daal Chilka - 250gms (soaked for 5-6 hours in warm water , washed and cleaned wid 50% chilkas of the daal remaining)
Ginger - 2 Inch piece
Garlic - 4-5 cloves (medium sized)
Coriander leaves
Fennel Seeds ( Saunf ) 2 tablespoons
Green Chillies - 6-7 or ( as per your taste, but to be honest it taste good wid lots and lots of chillies.. :) )
Red Chilly Powder 1/2 taplespoon
Turmeric Powder   1/4 teaspoon
Salt  as per taste and most importantly ,
Oil to deep fry.


Now , For Grinding all the ingredients properly first take few tablespoons of daal , ginger , garlic and salt and grind them in a coarsely grind paste. But keep it in mind that too much water should not be added or ur mangode will be hard and will soak lots of oil while deep frying.  Grind rest of the moong daal coarsely. Now chop green chillies ,coriander , saunf , turmeric powder and red chillies powder. See Image below this text.


      Mix the entire mixture well wid a spoon or ur hands anyway ur comfortable. See Image below .



When ur mixer is ready like the above image drop small balls in hot oil and deep fry. Please be careful while frying in hot oil. And one more important thing to be kept in mind while frying is do not fry on high flame. Keep medium flame and let the balls turn golden brown. Bring the balls out in a plate Take mango pickle , green chutney or tomato ketchup ( whatever u want ) , some onion wedges and server hot...

Enjoy the Mangode with ur family , wid Cold drink or Tea as per ur wish :)
